Your questions, answered
Below are frequently asked questions about our programs, policies, and more. If you have specific questions not answered here, please feel free to reach out to us anytime.
Once you are registered, you will schedule your initial assessment. In this assessment, you will sing or play and discuss your musical goals. This allows us the chance to get to know you and to match you with the best possible teacher for your goals. You will receive further information about what to expect once registration is completed.
Most lessons are held virtually so that you can be matched with the best teacher for your goals, abilities, and musical styles – not just based on your location. We do have teachers and coaches in many cities across the US with options for in-studio or who will come to your home to teach you, and we would love to set this up for you. There are extra costs incurred if you would like this. Please reach out to us so we can make arrangements and provide you accurate pricing.
Absolutely! Please select the ‘Continuing’ plan and you may split your lessons between two instruments, and even two teachers. This will be discussed in your initial assessment.
We allow flexible scheduling. You are allotted a set number of lessons each month based on the plan you choose, and you can schedule those lessons anytime that works for you and your teacher. Every billing cycle, you will receive your teacher’s calendar for the month at which point you will schedule your lessons for the upcoming weeks.
If you have made a mistake in your scheduling, you have up to 24 hours to reschedule your lessons. Simply reach out to us to let us know, and we will make it right. Once the 24 hour window has passed, we cannot offer any rescheduling. Our teachers take time not just during lessons but before your lessons to plan, as well adjusting their personal schedules, to be able to accommodate you. Many of our teachers are active performing musicians and we want to respect their time to be able to help our community.
We understand that situations happen and sometimes you can’t make it to your scheduled lesson. Please notify us as soon as you know that you can’t make your lesson so we can let your teacher know. We are not able to issue refunds for missed lessons.
Of course! We are always happy to accommodate changes to plans. Please reach out to us if you need to upgrade or downgrade your plan for the next month.
Absolutely, there is no contract or on-going agreement to continue lessons. Your plan will not renew the next billing cycle once you cancel. If you would like to withdraw from the school, please reach out to us and we will take care of you. If you have already scheduled your lessons for that month, we cannot issue refunds.
We offer specialized coaching sessions for students who need that extra push. Our coaches are renowned experts in a specific niche genre and style and are matched to students who are far along in their musical journey. If you are actively recording an album, touring, or performing regularly, you should consider our ‘Professional’ plan.
Because we go through an assessment and matching process, we do not offer just one lesson. If you would like to try out lessons to see if they are right for you, we suggest our ‘Beginner’ plan.
We have an amazing roster of teachers that will be matched to you based on your initial assessment. We take into consideration your age, your musical ability, your goals, your musical style, and a number of other items when you are matched. Once this is done, you will receive information about your teacher, as well as their calendar to reserve your lessons for the month.
This is a difficult question, because every student and every lesson is different. The one thing you can be sure of is there will be music being made! You will most likely go through a series of warm-ups and learning or practicing songs you are working on with your teacher. Every lesson is tailored to reach your goals.
We understand that sometimes you just don’t jive with the teacher that has been matched to you. If you are unhappy with your teacher or do not feel like you are reaching your goals with your teacher, please let us know and we will rematch you immediately.
We do! We regularly hold workshops, master classes, webinars, listening sessions, and exclusive performances for our students. Keep a lookout for our newsletter to find out about exciting community opportunities coming up!
